  • Waar begin 'n mens?

    Hallo Nadia

    Waar begin ‘n mens om op te staan wanneer dinge in die ou lewe jou rondgeskop het en jy naby opgee is? Die skaduwees volg jou en die aand wil jou gedagtes jou nie vry laat om te slaap nie. Dalk dink jy alles in jou gaan dood, maar daar is hoop want God se liefde staan vas. As jy platgeslaan voel hoef jy net tot op jou knieë te kom. Vir nou is jou knieë die beste plek om te wees.

    Dalk voel jy skaam oor alles wat jou gebring het tot waar jy is. Jy het dalk groot foute gemaak soos om verkeerde keuses te maak, om jou ‘top te blaas’ of jou ‘poppe uit die kot te gooi’. Dalk het die spreekwoordelike pop iemand getref en jy is in die moeilikheid.

    Stop en haal asem!

    Onder elke optrede en reaksie is daar gevoelens. Onder elke gevoel is daar behoeftes. Kom ons fokus op die behoeftes wat in jou hart is terwyl jy so platgeslaan voel eerder as om jou reaksies en optrede tot vervelens toe te ontleed. Ja, kom ons begin by die oorsaak en nie net die simptome nie.

    Ek het geleer dat die beproewings en gestoei op ons lewenspad is dikwels soos 'n venster wat vir ons ‘n kykie bied in ons innerlike krag en ware self. Die uitdagings wat ons in die gesig staar, die pyn wat ons verduur bied ons 'n kykie in ons bron van veerkragtigheid en openbaar wie ons in ons kern is.

    Nadia, ek dink dat die essensie van lewe lê in die onvolmaakthede daarvan. Dit is in die omhelsing van die gebreke van ons geliefdes dat ons werklik die diepte van ons liefde verstaan. Dit is deur vir ons egte self aanvaar te word dat ons die krag van liefde in ruil herken. Daar is 'n onbeskryflike skoonheid in die menslike ervaring, wat net woorde te bowe gaan. Ten spyte van ons inherente gebreke en donker neigings, streef baie van ons daarna om bo ons swakhede en ego's uit te styg en iets betekenisvols uit die chaos te skep. Moeilike uitdagings openbaar die omvang van ons vermoëns. Selfs te midde van die chaos, kan ons tevredenheid 'n diepgaande innerlike vrede ervaar.

    Ons is beide veerkragtig en kwesbaarheid. Wanneer ons vrede maak met ons menslike broosheid sal ons kan erken dat ons hulp kom van God. Hy is die HERE wat ons optel, dra en genees. Sy genade en vrede is onverganklik.

    Begin vandag om eerstens diep asem te haal en gee jou dag oor aan God. As jy weet jy het hulp nodig kan jy vandag met my ‘n afspraak maak, sodat ons saam by ‘n punt begin.

  • Wanneer ek met 'n probleem sukkel

    Hallo Nadia

    Die vraag is nie of ek dit ooit moeilik vind om 'n probleem te hanteer nie. Die sleutelwoord is 'wanneer'. Ek het gevind dat dit in orde is wanneer ek met 'n probleem worstel, al is ek die deurbraakmetgesel wat trauma en krisisse help ontsyfer.

    Die worsteling met 'n probleem gebeur in navorsing, studie en daaglikse lewe. Hierdie stryd word veroorsaak deur die hantering van 'n nuwe vraag of die hulpbronne is onvoldoende om na 'n kitsoplossing te spring. Vinnige oplossings maak gewoonlik probleme erger.

    My resep om uitdagings in die gesig te staar is redelik eenvoudig.

  • Wat sal die mense sê?

    Hallo Nadia

    Wat sal die mense sê? Dit is een van die mees beperkende vrae waarmee ek grootgeword het.

    Ondervinding het my geleer dat mense ‘n baie kort geheue het as dit kom by skinderstories. Een opspraakwekkende storie word in minder as ‘n oogwink deur die volgende opinie vervang. Aan die ander kant is mense min gepla met wat gewone mense, soos ek en jy, aanvang want hulle is besig met hul eie lewensdramas.

    Wholeness in a Wholistic Paradigm – A Natural Healthcare Approach 

    Overview:

    True wellness extends far beyond conventional medical treatment. This research explores natural healthcare principles within a wholistic framework, focusing on deconstructing trauma beyond biomedical limitations and reconstructing a sustainable approach to healing. 

    Purpose & Approach:

    Through qualitative research and real-world case studies, the study examines how individuals can reframe trauma using their own worldviews and natural healing resources. Guided by postmodern and interpretive constructivist methodologies, participants were encouraged to deconstruct pain, identify emotional blockages, and rebuild wellness through practical, personalised strategies. 

    The Ten-Level Coaching Model, developed through this research, fosters collaborative healing, where counsellors and clients co-create wellness strategies tailored to their unique needs and environments. 

    Findings & Impact:

    Key insights from the study reveal that effective healing requires: 

    - Crisis and trauma management, even within long-term therapeutic relationships. 

    - A step-by-step approach to addressing lifestyle concerns, ensuring gradual and lasting transformation. 

    - Retaining existing positive synergies in a client’s life while adjusting necessary elements. 

    - Utilising natural resources unique to each individual’s environment to support sustainable wellness. 

    Conclusion & Practical Application:

    This research confirms that wholistic wellness is an achievable, sustainable process when trauma recovery is approached from a natural, client-centred perspective. By embracing individual worldviews, structured coaching, and environmental healing, individuals can move beyond pain and step into long-term wholeness.

    Going for counselling can be a daunting prospect, especially when you are sitting in a problem-saturated situation. My clients often start the conversation with stating that they “don’t even know where to start”.

    The good news is that there is no correct or wrong place to start our conversation. The fact that you made your appointment is already a leap in the right direction. Coming to get the guidance, support or counselling takes courage and determination to become well.

  • Working from home? What a scary thought!

    All of a sudden many people find themselves in an unaccustomed and disconcerting workspace. Home!

    Your new workspace can be filled with very busy “colleagues” and distractions. On the other side, you may be totally isolated and alone, which can be equally distracting. Working from home is certainly not everyone’s cup of tea.

    The involuntary quarantine causes many mental health issues to the surface because we are social beings. This is even true of the self-proclaimed introverts because people need social interactions. We don’t realize the value of the interaction and exchanges between colleagues during the course of a normal working day.

    The issues that can come to the foreground from being forced to work from home in the midst of a world-wide pandemic are:

    • The change in your mindset from “living” to being in survival mode. This shift in mindset is the clearest in people binge shopping for so-called essential goods, leaving shop shelves empty. The empty shop shelves aggravate feelings of anxiety and despair. People who cannot afford to stockpile are even more anxious because their situation turns out to be more hopeless.
